Farrow & Ball paints were and are born and bred in Dorset, England, in the same small town the family members have resided in since John Farrow, and fellow paint pioneer Richard Ball, first founded the company. From small beginnings their reputation for quality quickly spread until the pair were supplying paint to the Admiralty and the War Office. The company bucked the trend towards cheaper, acrylic paints with high levels of plastic, in favour of the original formulations and natural ingredients. Over the years Farrow & Ball has been loved and appreciated by a dedicated and growing group of loyal customers all over the world who recognise the difference that attention to detail, quality ingredients and craftsmanship make.

Farrow & Ball are renowned for their paints and steeped in history. We offer their edited palette of 132 paint colours that have really earned their place as perennial favourites with their clients. The distinctive colour names are historically rooted. Who else would name a paint Elephant’s Breath? The colour names have meaning though: Dead Salmon for example, comes from a painting bill for the library at Kedleston Hall of 1805, and the Dead actually refers to the paint finish used. Meticulously researched and reflecting our unique heritage the names are as much part of our colours as the shades themselves.
