The amazing design world of Rex Kralj dates back to the 50's, when Niko Kralj, famous Slovene architect and designer, created one of the most renowned industrial designs, the Rex Lounge Chair, which was awarded the prestigious Prešeren Prizehis prize.

By combining his philosophy of simplicity with a belief that it's the details that make all the difference, Niko Kralj conquered the world with his innovative design and his chair was elevated to the level of a cult item that remains one of the most desired items for enlightened design lovers everywhere.

This timeless piece is included in the collection of design museums like MoMA, Design museum in Copenhagen, MAK Museum in Vienna and the Museum for Industrial Design in Prague.

One of the legendary works of art by the mid-century designer Niko Kralj. The lounge chair was designed and produced in 1956 and soon after that it became one of the most sought after items. Using two equally formed plywood panels for the seat and the backrest, the Shell is extremely elegant without compromising the functionality of it.
Rex Kralj's production is based in Slovenia and principally uses beech wood, but their designs are also produced in American walnut and teak for outdoor use (made out of 100% responsibly harvested wood).
